Every day, I document the locations I encounter by taking photographs and one-second videos. I collect numerical data from these sites to locate the documentation. I use these visual diaries and data to create drawings and animations that replicate my visual experiences.
The outlines in the animations consist of underlying numerical data generated by the architecture, such as geographical coordinates. I use this data as material to actualise the outlines I see. You can see this in the experimental work below (the outside of my house and the back of Brudenell Road)
This animation is of the Rodger Stevens Building in Leeds. It is a brutalist building that always excited and intrigued me, whilst living in Leeds for university. It intrigued me most because there was a split opinion from most people about whether they liked it or not.
For me the spaces the building creates have always been fun to draw and capture in photos. This is exactly what I did in this animation. I took photos and drawings of multiple different angles of the building to compile together with the data I sourced.
